If you are/were a SCA employee, you receive(d) a “fringe wage.” This is an hourly rate above your standard hourly rate that is contributed to “health and wellness” which means insurance coverage, retirement, or both. The amount of this hourly fringe wage is created by the government; it is not created by Navarre, and Navarre cannot increase or decrease it. Fringe wage is paid per hour for regular, non-overtime hours, up to 40 hours a week.
Money from your fringe wage goes two places:
1. Toward health insurance benefit deductions:
2. To your 401A retirement account:
Navarre’s 401A is managed by OneAmerica. You can either call OneAmerica at 1-800-249-6269 or create an online account at www.oneamerica.com/login. Navarre’s plan number is G39110, and the plan name is Navarre Corporation 401A.
Because the 401A is a retirement plan, there are federal government guardrails that dictate how money in the retirement account can be used, and when. The funds are meant for retirement, so these guardrails limit the ways money can be used for non-retirement purposes, without penalty. These are guardrails from the government which Navarre and OneAmerica must abide by.
